Europe 2011 - Fench Riviera

Nicholas Atkin - Sunday, January 23, 2011

Nearing the the end of this tour of Europe, we have arrived in the town of Antibes in the French Riviera.  The climate here on the northern edge of the Mediterranean is temperate, and it feels good to thaw out a little.

This part of France, well known for the glitz and glamour of Cannes, Nice and St Tropez, also boasts a beautiful coastline.  The road that links the towns along the coast twists and turns along the rocky coastline and constantly reveals new vistas that hold countless shooting opportunities.

We managed to capture some of the beauty of this region, and in particular, I had been itching to photograph an old rusty pier in Cannes that I remembered from a previous trip.

The coastline around Antibes gave us the opportunity to spend a couple of mornings photographing the waves breaking against the rocky shoreline.  The light and water in the Mediterranean have a beautiful hue to them.  Below are a couple of digitals that we captured one morning.
