Nicholas Atkin offers both Limited and Open Editions prints in his collection.  All prints are personally inspected, signed and delivered with a 'Certificate of Authenticity'.  Limited Edition prints will indicate an edition number.  All prints are produced on demand to ensure that the buyer receives the finest quality possible.

Limited Edition

Limited Edition prints are limited to a pre-determined number of prints.  The print sizes and quantity of prints in an edition are determined when the image is first offered for sale.  Once the limited edition quantity is set and made public they cannot be altered.  The benefit of this for the collector is that the image will gain in value as the edition closes, creating an investment opportunity.  Nicholas hand signs and numbers all Limited Edition prints.  Included with the image is a detailed original ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ also signed by Nicholas.

Open Edition

Open Edition prints do not have a limited print run.  The edition will run as long as Nicholas chooses to offer the print for sale.  Open Edition prints are printed to the same standards as Limited Edition prints.  All Open Edition prints are hand inspected by Nicholas. Prints 30” and above are hand signed and numbered by Nicholas, Prints 24” and below are electronically signed and numbered.

Artist Proof

Nicholas also holds the rights to a further 50 images for all Limited Edition prints for use as Artists Proofs.  These images are not for sale but can be used by the artist for other uses such as advertising and exhibitions.

All images are produced using the finest technology currently available.  Prints purchased may vary marginally in colour to the images viewed on the website.  This is due to computer monitors displaying colour inconsistently.  Rest assured that your print will have far greater depth of colour and detail that can only be produced by using the finest of printing technologies.

Currently, there are 3 various types of printing on offer.  These are FujiFlex, Giclée Photographic, and Canvas.

Giclée Photographic Prints

Giclée Photographic prints are inkjet prints made using the very finest pigment inks on museum grade archival paper.  All giclée prints are hand crafted by Nicholas using the most advanced pigment inkjet printer.  Painstaking trouble is taken to ensure that every detail and colour in the image is printed as accurately as possible.

Using a combination of Chromajet Metallic and Baryta gloss paper, Nicholas is able to produce prints of exceptional quality.  The paper in conjunction with the pigment inks, has been given a life expectancy by LNE laboratories in France, to exceed 100 years.

Canvas Prints

Canvas prints are based on a heavy cotton canvas.  The natural white colour of the canvas is perfect for producing very high quality photographic printing with uncompromising quality.  This canvas is ideally suited to stretching.  Canvas Prints are supplied unstretched.

FujiFlex Prints

FujiFlex are chromogenic prints that have excellent archival properties.  Unlike inkjet technology prints, chromogenic prints are produced using modern chemistry techniques, similar to traditional dark room techniques.

Images are printed on Fujiflex Crystal Archive Paper, which is a polyester-based silver halide material that gives a wide colour gamut with deep saturated colours.  This process uses advanced LightJet printing techniques.  FujiFlex is the perfect medium for reproducing prints from the Fuji Velvia film.  It has a strong resistance against colour fading with a long archival life.  FujiFlex has a vivid color reproduction, excellent reciprocity characteristics, and remarkable surface smoothness and flatness.

Prints are personally inspected by Nick and hand signed to guarantee authenticity and quality.

Poster Prints are produced using pigment based printing techniques.  Each poster is individually created on a special film based media that has been chosen for its spectacular glossy surface.  Rather than the mass-produced offset printing techniques, Nicholas’ individually produces and closely inspects each poster.  A unique feature of these posters are their durability, giving a life span of over 60 years if handle correctly.

Posters are low in cost and come in two different sizes, offering a more affordable opportunity for owners to display and collect Nicholas’ photographic art.
